Columbus 5th wheel factory support

Hello Happy Campers,

I am doing my best to navigate this site but I was out camping during computer class....so I might be a little slow. Please hang in there.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding the new and exciting Columbus 5th Wheel by Palomino. I will do my very best getting back to you in a timely fashion....unless I am camping then you will have to wait.

The proto 385 BH is almost completed (cross your fingers) should be ready later this week.

Happy Camping,

C. Columbus

Personally, I/we cannot wait for the 385 prototype to be finished and the details finalized.

A big question for us remains weight and length. Most state campgrounds in GA have a max length of 40'. What is the max in other states?
Also, how do the rangers determine the length - physical measurement or by model number? Anyone had any experience.

My experience with the Columbus brand only consists of looking at the unit at the Atlanta camper show as well as at the dealer. What I have seen, looks good.

one of themotors went out on the bedroom slideout, but i did get it out with a little patience and same getting back in (400 miles from home) and the bedrrom door fell off the roller on one end going there and coming back. But Forest River was very quick to make sure i got it in to my dealer and had it fixed when i got back. All in all--- a VERY NICE unit- we love it....

hotrodj.... I believe you are the one with the bad motor in the bedroom slide. I hope your dealer is getting you back on the road asap. Sorry for any inconvience.....everything will be taken care of and you will be in front of the camp fire before you know it.

In Ohio it varies by campground (state parks) at most it is 50', but you do have to check each state park individually as some can only accept up to 40'
I have noticed that there is an effort to add the 50' sites and increase the number of full hook-up sites as well, usually the new 50' sites are both.

Question Service Question - Forest River

Hotrodj125,

Did you submitt your service issues through your dealer or direct to the factory? If through the factory, would you share the contact information?

We are 2-3 week from getting ours and hope not to need it...better safe than sorry.

for the big problem (bedroom slide) i had to talk to Lippert Mfg and i think they told Palomino, but for the rest i just made a list and gave it to the dealer when i took it back there and Forest River contacted me then to see if all was going good. It seems that Forest River is really on top of things and want things right. We are very happy so far.

Well, we got it home on Tuesday and have been loading and getting ready for this weekend camping trip (close to home 1st trip).
It is beautiful and we love it. Few little problems when we picked up but contacted
dealer and they have been eager to correct any issues.
I will try to get pictures up when we get back.

Christoper Columbus, RV World called me today and said our Columbus is ready to pickup, all is fixed except the shower door, will have to take it back when a solution is made on the door. Thanks for your help and quality service on a quality camper.
