Columbus shade adjusting

We have the Columbus 320RS with the day/night shades. I know you are supposed to be able to adjust them but can't see how to get the valence off. I don't want to break that off so any ideas? I guess once I can get to the end of the shade I can adjust them so they go all the way up. Right now all but 2 work correctly. The 2 that don't stop about 2/3's of the way up.

Push the night shade all the way up first then the day shade.

There is a plastic "bobbin type" piece that the line winds around at the bottom of the shades. If you add one additional loop onto that "bobbin, it should take care of your problems.

Thanks. I'll take a look at it this weekend. I didn't know I could have both day and night shades down at the same time so I'll see what happens with that. Also don't know that there is a line going down on the day/night shades but I'll check on that too.

Well just to update. I took the valence off and with the day/night shades there are 2 shades rolled up. When we got home from the last trip the day shade was all the way down. Rolled it up using the gear like piece on the left not the right side. Once rolled up it is like that recharged the spring inside. Seems to go up and down now better than it did before.

So we will see how it goes in our upcoming 5000 mile trip in June. Hope we have no more issues.

Does anyone else have shades that only go down over 1/2 the window? My large dining room window when I pull both the day and night shades down they leave about 6 inches of the window exposed. I thought maybe they were out of adjustment but nope there is actually no shade left on the roller. Any thoughts???

We were told to only use one and not both. So if we want the night shade we run up the day shade first. Not sure if that would be an issue for you or not. All our shades reach all the way down. Hope you get it figured out.

Doesn't seem to make and difference whether just one shade or both are down.

Sorry for not seeing this before now. Quite the bummer. Not sure if you can take the valence off and see if there is more material on the roller or not. Maybe they just messed up and put one on that window that was designed for a shorter window. Either way I would be talking to the dealer about it. If they can't help contact Columbus directly. Good luck with it.

We have a 2017 383FB Columbus and most of our shades don't work well. I found instructions on how to adjust the shades in the packet of information that has the water heater, refrigerator and other manuals. The hardest part on ours is getting the valances off. As you can see they are attached with small L brackets that are hard to reach. I had to buy a long shaft (8 or 9 inch) Phillips to be able to reach the screws. I got one off and tried to adjust the shades. Didn't go well so I quit. Our trailer is going back to the factory early next year so we are going to live with the shades until then. Cheap shades but we like them better than the accordion style we had in our last trailer. Good luck.

I'll admit I gave up on this. We have found that if we help them up the go up far enough for us to deal with. I'll have to see if I can use a long phillips to get to the screws like you did and give it a shot. Just put the trailer to sleep for the winter on Monday. Sad day but won't be getting it back out now until spring.

I have the same problem, but my shades will not retract completely, hanging down about 4 inches. The real question is how to remove the valance? I have instructions on how to adjust the roller.

I think removing the valance involved a short screw driver IF I remember correctly. I won't be able to get back to it until spring.

Can you post or PM me the instructions for adjusting the rollers?
