Columbus water leak.
Just bought a new 375 columbus had it a week and the drain line for the bathroom sinks has a small leak. Call dealer I bought it from and they told to bring it in but I'm about 6 hrs away from there working. Called a place in Amarillo that sold forest river and they told me they couldn't work on it cause they didn't sell that particular brand. What else can I do to get this took care of?

Isn't that the point of a warranty is so you don't have to work on something yourself?

Will sure be a lot cheaper to fix yourself, when you consider fuel cost and aggravation to get it to someone that's really not interested in fixing. If I took mine in for everything wrong with it over the last 7 months of ownership, I still would not have spent one night in it. We live in ours, so taking to dealer is not an option 99% of the time.

The drain lines on all the sinks and shower need to be checked/tightened. This can be done by hand, no tools needed. Takes about 7 minutes start to finish, total.

Have a mobile tech come to you to have it fixed under warranty repair. You can coordinate this with your selling dealer and the mobile tech. You can find mobile techs via craigslist services and https://www.facebook.com/groups/mobilervcompaies/

Our Columbus had a small leak as well, I found the trap had come unscrewed, I tightened it up and it has been good to go since.

This leak was part of the tube for the bathroom sinks drain. I don't know what it was for other than an adapter but it swiveled and the leak was coming from it.

It is absolute BS from the dealer saying they cannot work on your trailer becasue you did not buy it there. 100% BS lie. Tell them to pound sand, ans that you will not consider them on your next purchase. Let FR know that a dealer they have contracted too is refusing to perform warranty work. jerks!
For those saying different. What if you were transferred across the country shortly after purchase?? Are you SOL becasue you now live 2000 miles away from you dealer.... did not think so..

The dealers can refuse to work on any unit they did not sell...even if they sell that brand ....common practice in RV industry...most will refuse outright or put you at the bottom of the list for when it could be done

Very true, that is how it is. Pretty sad. Dealers lose money on warranty work, so if you did not buy it there good luck!!!

Not the greatest picture, but this is where my leak was, I just tightened it up and all was good. The waterless trap had come unscrewed a bit and water was pouring out.

Our waterless trap like that leaked under our outdoor kitchen slide. Was not installed properly / cross threaded and someone at CC made an attempt to fill the threads with sealer to fix. Crappy work. I like to never have got that thing unscrewed with all that sealer in there.
