Connector for fresh water fill on Columbus 320RS

Just wondering what you 320 RS users use when filling the fresh water tank. I'll admit I haven't spent much time trying to figure this out but thought I would ask here.

I use a clean fresh water hose that is only used for that purpose. My question is that the male threaded end of the hose does not have a female connector to screw or tighten together at the fresh water fill. I end up simply sticking the hose up to the fill opening then you either stand there and hold the hose or I have been using several clamps that clamp the hose to the wall of the compartment so it does not fall away with the pressure of the water.

Am I missing the "female end" for fresh water? I do have one on the black tank flush, should I have them on both?

If it's not missing the what does everyone use so they don't have to hold the hose the entire time the fresh water tank is filling up?

I use a little "tank filler" accessory. It's a 12" piece of clear tubing with a female threaded house end with a valve. The clear house sticks down the fill port 8 inches or so and makes filling faster, I find.

Some times the filler hose gets a little kink or the vent stops up preventing water from going into the fresh water tank. The little hose fill adapter that was described works well. You can pick one up at the rv supply store or make one yourself.

Yep I am sure I can make one easily, just wondered if I was missing the threaded connector that would simply connect the hose to the filler. Like I said earlier the black tank flush has a connector I wonder why they did not use for the fresh water fill. Seems like an inexpensive miss on their part.
By the way I added comments to another thread today about the many many problems, some very significant, that we are having with this trailer so this connector is not a "real" problem to be sure.

The clear tube hose fill adapters work great. However, they have a nasty habit of the clear tubing falling off the hose fitting when water flows through it as it's a cheepy slip fit design. When it falls off, it goes inside your fill tube and into your fresh water tank. So before you use it, pull on the clear tube to make sure yours is a tight fit so it wont fall off! Glue it on if you have to.

I use a 90 Degree adApter on my water hose which fits fine inside the fresh water filler neck

You (Do NOT) want a Threaded positive connection on the F/W tank fill! This would/could blow the tank Up/Out of your unit! The small vent will (NOT) discharge fast enough to (Save) the Tank! Youroo!!

Jeez, I hope not! The new XLR has a threaded fitting for the FW fill (Salem had the screw-off cap that OP is describing here.) I would think as long as your FW tank can vent (and overflow when it gets too full,) you should be ok. I think many newer RVs/TTs/5Ws have this type of threaded filler.

Well lets see,Input hose of 5/8 Dia at say 60PSI and a Vent tube of 3/8inch discharge! Do the Math! Youroo!!

I really don't think that Forest River would design and build the FW tank fill inlet in this manner if it were going to blow the tank apart when you filled it. Really. I think that those of us who have a screw-on FW fill inlet are fine. Really. Camp more, worry less.

Make sure you have a lot of mops and towels on board. Tank might not blow, but a hose fitting sure might!

The fresh water fill is an open hole type fill. If you over fill the tank water will automatically flow out the over fill port. The other garden hose connection besides the city connection is for winterization and that is only active with the pump and the two bypass values.
