We were thinking about basing ourselves in Calif while traveling, but it is looking like its way more expensive than here in Wa. state.

Any body want to share their costs with states on the west coast.

Thanks.

Wow!! I can't believe how these states screw the average joe trying to enjoy life. Move it to Wisconsin, it's $15 a year not matter what your registering.

You can go to the Ca. DMV site and get an estimate for your fees.

I some California Counties you will also have to pay a luxury tax on a motorhome, travel trailer or boat. Our county tax is 1% of value.

Pa it's $12/ year and if it has brakes it needs annual safety inspection, $20 most places.

Virginia dropped the permanent plate for travel trailers but retained them for utility trailers.

The first registration includes 3 percent sales tax on purchase price and renewal is less than $50.00. Some counties also have an annual tax.

I have gone to the Ca. DMV, but they want your lic. number and zip code you live in. Since we don't live there it was to hard to figure out their estimate chart.

Thank you everybody for your input.

We live in Washington state, and the yearly lic. tab cost $105.00. Not bad at all. It is just getting SO expensive to live here with everything else. Property taxes are too high, sales tax is almost 10%, and they keep adding more fees to every lic needed.

So we are thinking of relocating. Better weather, more sun, warmer summers and not so much RAIN. Been terrible this year.

How about Az, Tn, Kt. Anybody want to pip in from these states.

Thanks again.

Jon
