Dometic thermostat

This weekend while camping both of my ac units turned off. At first I thought the park lost power but the power was still on, turned out the thermostat was indicating an E1 error message. I would think since both ac's went off that its the thermostat. Anyone else have this issue?

What kind of trailer do you have?
My Wildcat has 2 A/C units - but it also has 2 thermostats.

E1 is a communication error. While it's likely the thermostat, it could also be one of the control boards disrupting the communications on the network.

Did you try reinitializing the thermostat?

Unfortunately there have been a good many issues with these digital thermostats.

I have the same FW and the thermostat is a pain. When I had troubles with it, and it has been more than once, I rebooted following the instructions in the manual. I wish it would come with two thermostats.

The front AC in my 340 RKC will not turn off without shutting down the breaker. Obviously FR are have issues with this set up.

It's actually not FR's problem, though they have some culpability because they install the units. It's Dometic's problem.

There have been a few reports of the A/C units with the digital thermostat not shutting down. If I remember it's been the control board in most all the cases.

Just for fun, have you tried initializing the thermostat to see if that helped?

I didn't think it'd work, but it was worth a try.

Hopefully it's under warranty, but even if it isn't I'd contact Dometic and see what they'll do for you.

The 5th wheel was only 6 weeks old when this happened, so back to the dealer to resolve the issue.
