Electrical cord length on 36qbok?

Hello all, thanks for the answers to my questions so far as I prep my site for delivery.

One more follow up: How long is exterior power cord on this trailer? Need to confirm outlet placement and don't want to realize I am too far away from trailer.

Thanks

So- when the camper is parked in front of my house, I have to run the cord from the plug connection point up along the camper to my 50-to-30 and then 30-to-20 adapters to where I plug in a heavy duty extension cord (12 gauge, I think). Those plugs are about where the basement hatch is. Between those 2 points is (guessing), 35'.

I just measured. It's 35' long. The electric connection on the camper is about 6" from the back corner/20" or so forward of the back of the bumper.

I just measured my 50 amp cord on my Surveyor and it's 28'. I have a question, however. I'd like to buy a 30' 30 amp cord for those instances where I need more length than the 28' FR provided. I only have one AC so if I need to run my RV on 30 amp I should be OK. Does this logic sound logical? A 50 amp extension cord is so expensive and heavy that I thought the 30 amp cord would be a sensible way to go. Comments please?

I'm sure others will have opinions- but being a new camper and being in a 50amp rig, I'm always a little surprised at how easily we trip the breaker at the campground box. What I would be worried about- with a 30amp cord, will you unknowns got exceed its ratings?

As long as you're talking about plugging that into the 30-amp outlet in the pedestal and then using your adapter to take the 30-amp cord outlet into your 50-amp cord, you're fine.

You should not use an adapter to plug that 30-amp cord into the 50-amp outlet at the pedestal.

I would only plug into a 30 amp service with the configuration that I suggested. Thanks for both the replies.

That sounds good to me, then.

I have purchased another 15' exetension to carry in the rig, and have needed it a few times already. But here is another plauseable alternative I may explore. I have considered wiring another 50 amp plug in to the front of the RV that the power cord would connect into.

The batteries and transfer switch are both in the front of the RV, so the wiring should be fairly simple. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I bought it off Amazon, it was $59. Here is the link. Amazon.com: Camco 55194 50 AMP 15' RV Power Grip Extension Cord: Automotive

Should be fine. Assuming the outlet your plugging into is wired correctly with the proper breaker (30A) it will trip when you exceed the current draw. If your 50A cord is detachable, it would be safer and preferable to get a cord that has the 30A plug and the 50A locking receptacle built in. I think Marinco makes those up to 35' and Conntek (never used this brand) makes them to 50'. I got the impression this was you plan but I couldn't be sure.

Be warned however the combination of one A/C unit, a hot water heater (running on it's electric element), and a microwave will pop a 30A all day long. I've done it many a times. [It's really beyond me why camper manufacturers haven't made 50A 120/240V the standard for hook ups. One, two, even three A/C's, water heater, microwave, air compressor, ARC welder... Plenty of headroom ]

So... Do these trailers with 50 A cord come with the 50 / 30 adaptor, or do we need to buy separate? I know my old one had the 30/15A adaptor.
Thanks

The Surveyor 5er that I picked up in April came with one. Best you ask your dealer.
