Ever-Chill refrigerator
2019 PUMA 32RKTS
How do you secure the refrigerator door while traveling?
Have you found that it needs to be secured more than the normal closure of the refrigerator door?

Ours has magnets that keep it secure.

First tril out door came open and made a mess. I contacted ever-chill. They sent me a T looking latch to install. So far no more issues.

Can you post the contact information for Everchill. We have only been on one trip with no issue, but I have concerns about it opening.

If your fridge is the same basic style as mine, with top freezer and bottom fridge, doors, you may be able to use the screw knob like mine. You can see it in this thread

You'd have to tap out a hole between the doors. It works well for me with my Whirlpool 10.7 residential.

Just got our Wildwood 27rks a week ago. Has the Everchill Fridge with the T handle. Figured out that not only does the T handle work to lock the doors closed...but can be used to keep the doors open when not in use to prevent mold.
I do have a question though, since we have the camper plugged in at home and won't be able to camp for awhile...Ohio weather....how do you turn the fridge off...when plugged in to shore power?

Plenty of posts exist about the lack of an on-off power switch on this refrigerator (what were they thinking?). Search on 12 volt refrigerator switch.
Here’s a thread of several: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...on-198356.html

My new Wildwood 27RKS came with that item built in to our Everchill Fridge. I think it will be great at keeping the doors closed while traveling and can also be positioned to prop the door open when not being used so that it doesn't get moldy.

All new rv’s should come equipped with a bag of bungee cords.
We have had several lessons on our highways about doors coming open besides the fridge! One got caught in the slides. The DW has three sets of doors corded up to travel.
As a former finish carpenter I am good at cabinet repairs.
You got to be handy to own an rv!
