Floor adhesive failure Columbus 320RS

Anyone having a problem with their floor on the Columbus320rs? We purchased a new 320rs in March of 2013 and the floor just developed ripples/blisters. Looks like the adhesive may have failed.

I believe it is a "floating" floor..... not glued in

A floating floor? The ripples/ blisters are in all four corners about 3 to 5 feet in length. They are unsightly to say the least. I can't imagine this is standard. If it is a living floor wouldn't the entire floor move as one unit?

I have talked with a few others and your dealer should be able to help you with this

Thanks....The dealer to date has been illusive to say the least. We are on the road and they have not returned phone calls or responded to emails. Frustrating! If anyone has had a similar issue with their floor, please advise.

if you are on the road full time... check with an authorized Forest River Dealer. They can also help. Some have had bubbles and ripples. We have been fortunate...... a few bubbles but they went away quickly......

I had a sandpiper that did the same exact thing. The floors weren't stretched enough when built or the unit was built in the winter on a cold day and now the floor covering is expanding in the heat. I would put down something to protect the floor when sliding in the slide rooms. Mine ripped and had to be replaced.
To fix it should be a simple fix for a qualified shop.

The does happen in some trailers. This is not limited to Forest River products. Our trailer had the same problem. I knew of the problem before I purchased, I also knew that I wanted to tile our trailer and did not make the dealer repair the floor.

Repairing the bubbles near cabinets can be a real problem. Because the floor covering must be stretched back under the cabinets, the cabinets must come out.

Chiro, that makes sense. We picked our Fiver up in he winter and have experienced some very high temperatures. Hopefully we can find a qualified shop to fix our issue before it tears.

Our floor did have. Bubble when it was new. The dealer did pull up carpet and relaid it in the spot and put carpet and theater seating back and it's been fine since then.

Had the same problem with my Columbus 320RS. My dealer said that it is a floating floor and that there was not enough space around the edge. They fixed it for me right away. I feel lucky the dealer I bought my unit from has been very responsive after the sale.

Tugboat369 & eisbell, thanks for posting! Sounds like our floor needs a little trim job! Hopefully the dealer will make this right.

We just went on a factory tour last week and the floor is definitely not glued down it is just stapled around the edges. Columbus says it is normal to get some small ripples with temperature changes. I am not sure we are happy with that answer but all other factory work was excellent!
