I think you might have been mis-informed as the tank is vented and having the cap on or off has nothing to do with the pump functions.

I bought the fill hose thing when filling up at the camp ground same problem after scratching my head I took outdoor shower hose off and blew into air vent. That fixed my problem!!!!! Must of been air locked. Thanks guys now to figure out why i have no heat

Quite possibly. While the dealers been good to me the kid the had doing the PDI didn't seem the brightest of the bunch.

Try KyDan's method. I used to have a camper that did the same thing. It used to take twenty minutes or more to fill till I stumbled upon KyDan's method.

I use the outside shower hose to fill fresh water tank. When hooked to. City water, just remove the shower head from the hose and put it in the fill tube. Lots of air can escape for venting, the water is filtered, and when done just replace the shower head, close up the film tubs and when you use the onboard water, it gets filtered a second time as the pump draws through the filter.
