generator!!

Could a person replace the spare tire with a generator on the 36qbok? Oh!!! And have it work. Thoughts!!

Oh I would be leery about this.
Do you have the factory mounted rack on the back ?

My spare is up front in a drop box behind the front hitch door.

ok so similar to my unit.
I think there are many reasons why I would not.......
Vibration.
Heat.
Potential fire hazard.
Heat build up inside of closed space.
Noise.
Carbon monoxide build up.

I think I'd agree with turbs. My non -honda or yamaha genny is loud and stinky.
If needed id just throw it in the back of the truck

Right, but lots of fifth wheels come with generator preps up in that area. What are they doing to prepare the area and could the OP replicate it?

It can be done but the logistics of it turn most people off. You have to have a completely sealed off space around the generator, proper airflow to the gen, and then get all the wiring done with transfer switch and such. When you add all this up, carrying a portable generator seems easy.

If I was to do that what quite generator is out there (portable) to run a 50 amp 5er? I have a 6800 now but it's a OHV and not so quite. Also real damn heavy......

Both Honda and Yamaha make big inverter generators. 6500 and 6300 watt respectively. They are about as quiet as you will find. I think they weigh around 200 pounds though. I don't know if you would consider that "portable".

i recently acquired the beast of the 6500is.......it will run my 15k ac just fine......actually if i stagger the starting it will run them both...but i would venture to guess that full of fuel its closer to 300lbs!!!!...and with the height of my lifted f250 tailgate and recently repaired shoulder/rotator cuffs, its quite a handful....had to use my aluminium bike ramps to struggle it in last time....so its portable per se...........but man....its borderline...LOL

I have a 6875 Honeywell "several hunderd lbs"
I use this to put it in the back of the truck.
I also use it to install my slider hitch.

There cheap at harbor freight and you wouldn't believe what you'd use it for.

I have not pulled a motor since I gave up stock car racing 5 years ago.

Works great to lift the back of the snowmobiles to.

Just sayin.
