Greasing Slides

Do you guys grease your slide mechanisms? These are electrical and have geared tracks under the slides. (non schintek (sp))

If you do grease them, what do you use?

Thanks

We asked to have ours checked, serviced and lubricated, while it was in for some small warranty items. Have no idea which lube they used, but SHEESH! they're so much quieter now!

I use this.

Much less for the dust and dirt to hold on to.

I use the dry film lubricant for garage doors. I use it on steps, locks, slides, jacks everything that squeeks I lube it. NO GREASE except on wheel bearings.

Protect All Slide Out DRY Lubricant. Spray it on the rack and gears under your slide. Doesn't attract dirt, retards rusting, and made my slides quieter. CW carries it. It's designed for use on RV slides.

I use rubber slide lube for the rubber seals and plain old axle grease on the rack and gear. Amazing how well it works. The tough part is doing the top seal with slide topers, used a extendable wash pole with a rag.

Lippert (manufacturer of the slides) states in their manual NOT to use grease on the rack gear.It can attract dirt and grit.
From the manual:
Quote:
• If the system squeaks or makes any noises it is permissible to apply a coat
of lightweight oil to the drive shaft and roller areas but remove any excess oil
so dirt and debris do not build-up. DO NOT use grease.

Boeshield T9 is the ticket. No messy dirty equipment. Works on every mechanical movement.
