Congratulations!

Congratulations and good luck!

According to our dealer, ours was to go into "labor and delivery" today, with a 3-4 day target for completion.

Problems

If you wouldn't mind and if you have time later, post what small issues you discovered.

Trying to create a "to look for list".

Sticky bathroom door, loose screw, carpet tack not all the way in, one spot of messy caulk. The Columbus is a beautiful rig!!!! The only other thing I will do is label the light switches on the control panel. The other issue is .... Now where did I put that??? Or maybe that should go there!!!! Bought a tiny trash can for bathroom.

I had a label maker on my "take to the PDI" list. Then I thought, maybe that is a little overkill! Nope, back on the list. Congrats! Look forward to pictures! I noticed the decal in your user photo area - nice! Where did you place it?

Sorry! I should have clarified that question a little better. Earth Station has a C. Columbus quote, "Following the light of the sun, We left the Old World" - in their ID photo.

Glad for you Earth Station, congrats! I know it must be a real relief to finally be in your new Columbus. We spoke to our dealer today and were able to get our vin #. Not sure why they don't know but "they think ours is one of the ones in transit to Houston this week". So maybe we will be taking delivery next week.

We placed that decal above the refrigerator..... Centered on the old world wooden map. I have to say it looks so much better than I even thought it would. When I get home will upload pics to Facebook and place a link to them on here!!

We picked our Columbus up Tuesday. It is beautiful and we love it. Our small issues -
Wooden step cracked where screwed in, vacuum no suction - was disconnected behind step, cabinet above sink- doors rub together when trying to close, globe in fan not secured tight and cracked in transit home, on first outing on arrival noticed light stem over table had unscrewed in ceiling and was hanging by electric wire,
Shower glass door not caulked on bottom causing water to pour out under track, and last that we found so far is patio light comes on for step light switch and step for patio light switch. Most are in process of being repaired or waiting on parts. Some we have discovered today and will be in touch with dealer next week. My advice is to really pay good attention in pdi and check things and double check yourself. We still love it even with the minor issues which I know will be corrected shortly.

We drove home from the dealer yesterday. Our first experience with a FW. Jeff was able to back it right into the driveway. It was awesome!!!! The trip was uneventful. We did stop for gas. (mind you that took about 3 months in the TT). We are having our open house tomorrow. Today we clean the bugs off of it. And rearrange some of the cabinets. Move it there or here or even over there!!! There is one issue that I call dumb. Think all RV's have them. In the Cougar it was an escape window over the stove. In the Columbus.......... there is an outlet next to the closet that isn't readily accessible. (have to buy one of those flat extensions) That is the only thing that has made me shake my head!!!! We didn't get a shirt, jacket or even a hat ............. how am I supposed to promote FR???? I LOVE MY Columbus and Bill Thomas Camper Sales has been truly amazing. They welcomed us -- gave us a vehicle to grab some lunch prior to PDI (we were a bit early) The PDI was done by Jeff (that was fun) and lasted just about 4 hours. Set up in their parking lots (with full hookups) On Thursday they took us out for a test drive (learned the ins and outs of the hitch, noises -- feel of the FW) Gave us a $25.00 certificate good in their store.WONDERFUL!!!! Trudy....... sorry to hear all your little things. The only thing we noticed getting home was the ceiling fan chain somehow was up on top of the globe. And I am vertically challenged!..... Pics hopefully tonight!

Felicia and Trudy,
Thanks ever so much for sharing your initial "shakedowns" with us. Sure sounds like you both had great experiences. Little things are to be expected. Keep us posted. I can hardly wait to write my own "We got it home!" post!
Looking forward to some pictures!

Funny about the ceiling fan chains. Ours does the same thing! I think I'll tie a shoe to each chain, that should weigh it down enough. What do y'all think?
