This works well for road bikes/hybrids/mountain bikes. The fork mount holds the bikes securely and staggered so handlebars don't hit and the rear tires rest on the cargo tray cross members. I plan on putting aluminum plate on the cargo tray - either all of it or just the area where the tires sit. A little expensive to do but it would look good.

If I may suggest.

How about expanded aluminum mesh.

Much lighter, less expensive, dirt and other debris may fall thru or be washed thru with ease.

The expanded mesh is good however with road tires it is pretty "sharp texture" and may wear on the tire pretty quickly. Definitely worth looking into.
