Leather couch

Our new 30RS was delivered with a leather sofa rather than the cloth fabric we ordered. It is supposedly standard now with leather. FR asked prior to delivery which we wanted and we responded with fabric. Assuming we can still get fabric ...any one have issues one way or the other?

We originally had the fabric couch. I had it replaced by the leather one last year while at the plant. The leather is much more comfortable than the fabric for sitting. It also matches our recliners. We like it because our dog's hair doesn't get stuck in the fabric.

If I remember right it was a late year change and the cloth is no longer available. I have cloth in mine.

Not sure what Brand is being talked about on this. Columbus has 2 cloth Fabrics & 2 rebound leather choices.

@ Stott - Lemme guess, the dolts at Trade Winds are lying to you again. Well, maybe not lying, more like they just aren't winning any dealer awards.

Hot sweaty skin sticks to the leather. Not so with the fabric. They all have their pros and cons.

I like the coolness of the leather seats, and the comfyness of the couch!!!

The brand is Columbus. We ordered it the 1st of February. I think it was factory mistake. Our dealer says they will order the correct one. I have no reason to distrust anyone. Had two previous FR products with great customer service.

If you have dogs or kids, leather is better. Just wipes up. Keep it conditioned at least yearly to prevent it drying out and cracking....Just my experience from home furniture.

My dealer told me that - at least for the color I chose - leather is the only choice available.

I never heard the term "rebound" leather before. Is that the same as faux leather or bonded leather? I assume its not real leather used in these campers?

treaves- if you post the year, make and model of your camper, Christopher Columbus is a factor rep and can help you more specifically.

When we ordered our Columbus the Fabric couch was standard and we made sure to order the leather due to the fact I was afraid that if our 2 labs get on the couch that their toe nails would snag the fabric. Also the dog hair getting stuck in the fabric was another reason we opted for leather.

Ya, I've e-mailed him. My understanding from this forum is that a few things have been changed and 'updated/upgraded/ over the last few months at the factory.

Leather is more comfortable, easier to clean/keep clean and contrary to JoelEk - it really does not stick to sweaty skin. I have had leather furniture and leather in vehicles, it does really get hot and seems to stick if in the sun but once the surface moisture burns off, it is really quite pleasant. The fabric will absorb more body oil and sweat then tend to smell after a few years but it should not be a problem. As most of you know - any RV does the following:
Parties 6, Feeds 4, Sleeps 2
