LED Awning Lighting

We went out camping this weekend and turned on the led lights under the awning last night. They had been on several hours when we noticed an electrical burning smell. We looked up and the end opposite the wiring connection was smoking and was melting the light assembly and the plastic that holds the lights. I believe you can just shorten the string by cutting it off shorter. Has anyone had an issue with this before?

No issue such as yours but you should be able to trim the LED string. All I have seen have marks cut lines on the back of the string. You might want to trouble shoot what caused this before it leads to bigger issues.

Just say'n
