Hmmm going to have to open it up!! I want to apply something to the edges of the plywood that the matress sits on anyway, so there is no splinters!!! Maybe to the entire surface! Thanks for sharing info!!

I saw the space under the bed and it is rather shallow, a platform above the slide system. The storable space in is only about 6-8 inches depth.

Store blankets, sheets, etc under the bed with the original design with drawers. Don't think the 2 spare chairs from laundry closet would fit.

Good idea to wrap an edge guard around the plywood base. A few rolls of caulking strip with sticky back tape would make this easy!

The newer slides have about the same under bed storage area, minus the drawers.

I have the drawers under my bed, just wondering what problems people are having with the bedroom slide? Has anyone read posts regarding bedroom slide issues? I'm going to look into how this motor section is installed under the bed.

The Schwintek slide system has been less than reliable in a number of other brands.

Not really heard of any Columbus owners having issues, but I know quite a few of The Prime Time and ither manufacturers are having issues.

Honestly, our Techs think it is the way it is installed in certain units rather than a huge problem with the system itself.

I have a F-350 with 6.5 bed. I have a Reese Revolution hitch on my 320rs. I can go beyond 90 degrees in a turn with plenty of clearance. Our first 5 er as well, so there was no learning curve with the revolution hitch which has a wedge that keeps king pin from moving in traditional way. I would think of you were used to the traditional 5th wheel hitch, it would be a little different.

If you're referring to me, I'm a member already. As for anyone else, I recommend you joining as we seem to discuss the Columbus in more detail there as its only Columbus owners.
