BSIFRITT, like you I have researched the Columbus for almost 2 years & we will pick up our 320 this Wednesday (weather permitting). I looked at & priced Columbus dealers from KY to Fla, plus the last 2 years Tampa RV show. We are buying from our local dealer. They had 1 in stock that had everything we wanted except the Tri-glide pin box. It does have the Roto Flex. Does anyone have the Roto Flex & if so is it helpful? Thanks

Mine has the Roto Flex. Big difference over the standard pin box. You'll be fine. Enjoy your new Columbus!

I have the Roto flex on mine and I love it. I wish i had the tri glide from what everyone in the Columbus Owners Group is saying about them. Maybe I will have it swapped out at Goshen this year!!

Taking Brutus to the State park this weekend to check for problems. Maybe I'll get that surround sound figured out! Had problems with cable hookup bringing him home from Ohio and almost missed the OSU game! I hope that is the extent.

Do any of you Ram 2500 owners need air bags for the 320RS? I am hoping I won't need them.

Rather than air bags, I would suggest SuperSprings. I have on my 2500 and it only drops 3/4" when hooked up. No need to do anything when not towing. Automatically comes into play when needed and truck returns to normal springs when not loaded. 15 min install and less $$ and equip than airbags.

From Amazon. Ordered 3 days before I picked up my 320. They came in just after I got my trade in parked (Grey Wolf) and we did the PDI. No real problems and everything was working. Then went home, installed the springs and back to the dealer 30 mi away got back before they closed and towed the 320 to their small campsite. The rigs were parked side-by-side do the "move went well and easy. Stayed for 3 nites then first 40 mi tow to another 1 nite just S of home. Made a quick trip home then loaded for a 4 day 109 mi trip. Tows extremely well, Rotoflex kingpin is very good but shoulda got the RotoAir. I do like the SuperSprings, a lot.

Thanks. I will check them out. I lowered my rear by moving the spacers to above the springs. This made my old 5er run level, but I may have to undo that & add bags or helper springs.

My brother has the same TV but with a mega cab. He needed air bags for this TV & did not need them for his 04 CC Ram pulling his same Montana.

The megacab seems to run different than standard. Don't know why. If I were you I would go back to reg config with your rear springs. I had the pin box lowered one hole-set to allow more level stance. I can send you a pic if you want. Just PM me your phone and I'll text it to you.

To the OP, congratulations on your 340K! We almost... almost got one, then decided on the 365RL. We fixed the cable / satellite wiring (see my posts for wiring diagram) and I pulled all 4 wheels to clean, inspect and adjust the brakes. Yes there was some grease, but it wasn't leakage, it was sloppy assembly (again, see my posts and pics). We've put about 1,500 miles on it in the first couple months and LOVE IT!

Happy camping!

BigTJohn, which seller did you get them from at Amazon? I saw one guy has them for < $300

Super Springs SSA10 3Wx52X.499 : Amazon.com : Automotive

Did you get the optional extra mounting kit? I like what I have read about these, was resigned to putting the Firestone Ride Rites in til I saw these.
Would rather have springs that are passive until needed.

Thanks BigTJohn & SYE. I have heard so much about the Firestone air bags, I think that's the way I will go. Now I need to decide if I want to install them or have it done. I can't do it inside & our weather is the worst in several years. Maybe I'm just not as tough as I used to be.

Every time we buy a new RV, I end up needing other items to make everything work smoother. Oh well, it's only money and I keep telling myself how much we will enjoy the Columbus 320RS. Thanks again...

Maybe I'm just lucky but, I didn't have to add any springs or airbags to my Dodge Ram 2500 and it only drops about 1 inch when I'm ready to travel. It might be the fact that I have the longbed and I also opted for the trailair hitch pin set up, it tows like a dream with absolutely no chucking and minimal bouncing.

Thanks Don. I am going to hook up & see how it does loaded. I hope I will get lucky like you.

I may be wrong but I suspect they may have softened the springs for a "better ride" on the later 2500's. My brother didn't need them on his 04' but did on his 11' mega. I know there is also a difference between the CC & mega & maybe that caused the need for air bags.

Most people on the various forums are so great & willing to share info. I have followed this forum for some time but rarely commented because I had another brand 5er. If I have any knowledge on a subject, I will contribute.

Your input is much appreciated & allows me to make a much better informed decision. Thanks to all...

I do not have the info at hand on which seller I get them. I did get the mounting kit for the RAM. It was so easy to put on and it just sits there until it is needed. It is just a great system and I think better/easier than airbags as I'll never have to worry about how much air should I put in, did I over fill the bags, did I let air out once I stopped towing, I am towing again soon so should I let air out, all just more stuff to have to remember to do and all I really want is a good time and not have to get ready to fly a space shuttle. Although that would be the best!
