New Columbus

We picked up our 2014 Columbus 340RK last Thursday and it is amazing. Everything looks great and everything works great. With all that I see here about the problems people have with their's I wanted to post something positive for once. The thing is perfect for what we want and way more than we need which is also great. In two weeks we are taking it for it's first trip about four hours away. We bought it from Goo's Rv in Hartford, South Dakota and they were tremendously helpful and gave us a good price without the salesmen stuff to deal with. The entire experience has been very positive.

We got our 340RK in late April and we too love everything about it! The lay out is just perfect for us and the large kitchen/living area is great for entertaining when the weather outdoors isn't so nice.

There have been a few minor issues with ours, but nothing that has taken away from our love for it. Good luck!

Congrats on your pick-up of the 340RK. Let us know how your first outing goes. The wife and I pick-up our 340RK next Wednesday. We are very excited!

We started looking to trade in the Wildcat back in August. This rear kitchen model is the first one that my wife fell in love with back then. After looking at a ton of 5th wheels, gas motor homes and almost buying a used diesel pusher we went full circle and came back to the 340RK. Can't wait!

We spent our first weekend in our 340RK and everything worked great. I have nothing negative to say except we can't spend enough time in it. We have plans for the next three weekends in it and are looking forward to using it all winter. Last winter we used out travel trailer all winter. Cost a bit in propane, but we sure enjoyed it. This new 5er will be even better since it's built for the cold. I really can' say enough about how much we like the Columbus.

Congrats jeb! Just want to say that there have been some braking issues going on with all Columbus models, so after taking a few trips with it, you may want to have them checked. Do not attempt to remove anything, as it may void warranty. Something about grease leaking onto the pads, and also brakes "grabbing". We are seasonal and don't tow, so I don't have all of the details, but there is a thread on here that may help you.

Good luck and have fun with your new baby!

Same thing for us - 2012 320RS and no major problems. 6000 mi so far and all is good. Remember that most of the "bad" on this and other forums is only about 10% of all of the Columbus (and other makes as well) that have been produced. Of those with major problems, only 5-10% of those are having the problems so in reality, maybe 1- 1.5% are having major problems. Majority of rigs are really pretty reliable, seems to me.

We are so excited...... we pick up our 340RK this afternoon. I am planning on spending about 2 hours or so going through everything with them. Maybe more if needed.

Emptied the old Wildcat into the garage and I can't believe how much crap was in that thing. We will surly be filtering as we began to repack this evening. Our first outing is scheduled for the weekend of Nov 1.

The DW and I also love our Columbus...our 320 was almost completly trouble free (Missing caulk on the bottom shower rail) and we spent many days and nights in it this past camping season. We have put it to bed for the winter but are eagerly awaiting spring so we can get back out on the road!

That is funny Don. We just spent our first weekend in the Columbus. All went well with really just a few minor thing as well. Wanting to tryout all the systems we fired up the hot water and the wife jumped into the shower. When she got out the bathmat and the floor were soaked! I should have checked for that caulk in the shower rail after you mentioned it.

We have used ours for the last four weekends in a row and everything works great. The only thing I've found was the screws holding the blades on the ceiling fan were loose. Tightened them up and good so far. We are loving everything about it.

Bill & Melanie's Columbus on order

We loved the Columbus 320RS since itís introduction. But, seeing itís my nature to research everything to death, and compare, and study, and compare again, we have spent the last two years looking at them at RV shows from Cleveland, to Columbus, to Hershey. We have decided awhile back that the Columbus 320RS is the fifth wheel for us without a doubt, but then shopping for the right dealer and the right price began. After going through five dealers, we are happy to say we made our deal last week, and our new 320RS is on order. Maybe there is some Karma in buying our Columbus, in Columbus. We are very excited, and looking forward to delivery, let the count down begin!

Congrats on new columbus

Hope you are lucky on picking the correct dealer, it can make all the difference on how you like your new trailer. I think anyone who has purchased a trailer has found their can be some problem, but how good your dealer is at correcting that problem can have a major bearing on how you feel about the manufacture. Again hoping yours is problem free. P.S. mine had a few problems, dealer more than useless, Columbus sorted problems.
