With all the China bashing going on, sometimes we forget that it could also be an overworked, underpaid, rushed installer at the plant (or Woody from Cheers did the switch wiring after lunch.)

I am pretty sure the switch will be fine and a rushed crimp is the problem.
Having said that; it still could be a bad switch.
