Opinions needed. Thanks

We ordered a 2014 Puma 30-DBSS six weeks ago and it came in yesterday. Go today to check it out and it's the wrong interior fabric. Basically puma changed the fabrics mid 2014 with out telling dealers including those with special orders. First he showed me the cushion in his office and first thought was oh hell no. But in the trailer in person it looks good but at the same time it's different from anything I've seen before. The dealer is going to try and get samples of the new fabrics (3 total) and hope we like it better and make them exchange out of spite mainly.

The good thing is puma upgraded to a leather couch probably to keep people from complaining.

So long story short what are your thoughts? and heads up if you have a palomino product on order.

Sorry to hear that you're unhappy with some of the changes on the camper you ordered. Manufacturers make running changes all the time throughout the model year, some major, some minor. I understand that things like décor tend to happen around July...perhaps after their summer shutdowns I've heard about.

I think that you'll also find in your purchase agreement, some wording like 'the customer agrees to accept the final product regardless of minor modification by the manufacturer to layout, specs, colors or option types within reason while in production'.

It's not the answer you'll want to hear, but that's the way it is in the RV industry.

Dave

Thanks and your probably right about the fine print. It's not that we hate it but might like another better. Just would of been nice to get a call saying that is discontinued and here are the new colors pick one.

It's not what anyone but you think of the fabric. You are the owner and only your opinion counts. If you like the color fine, see if the dealer will "deal" somewhere else on options, otherwise your option is forcing them to replace the fabric to your liking.
Just my .02 cents

I agree with Dave. I know my purchase agreement last year had language in it that said the company reserved the right to change the interior. Mine also came different from what I ordered. In my case it was an acceptable change. I don't think there is much you can do about it. Sorry.

While it wouldn't be my first choice, I don't think the pattern is all that bad. The base cushions are pretty neutral.
When we were shopping for our trailer, I kept thinking to myself "Are the designers color blind?" I've taken down most of the valances, changed out the master bedspread, and will be changing out the wallpaper border around the sink, maybe even put up a "tile" backsplash.
But ours was NOT custom...it soon will be. :0)

I like it, but then my opinion doesn't count as I'm not paying for or using the camper. Previous posters are correct in that manufacturer can make changes w/o notice. I guess it all depends on what the samples of the 3 new fabrics look like and if you like them better than what you have.

Looks great, cause Grey is one of those colors that you can use ANY color as an accent....like throw pillows, small fleece blanket to cover up on a chilly night, throw rugs, etc. The Grey color might be a blessing in disguise!

They did that with the Surveyors as well. My wife and I like darker colours. Our dealer didn't have the model we wanted at the moment but was trying to find one from another dealer for us. We told our dealer we could wait until next year and get a 2014 off the line in the new season. Then we got a call to come talk to her. She showed us pictures of the new lighter colour they were switching to inside the trailer. We hated it. Lucky for us, she found one for us with the dark colours so we got it now rather than next season
