Ordered 2013 F450 Lariat

Well after a lot of discussions and opinions I decided to order it. I have a columbus 385bh and I could not decide between the 2013 F350 Lariat SRW, the 21013 F350 Lariat DRW or the 2014 F450 Lariat to tow it. My friend owns a ford dealership and gives me dealer cost on vehicles. The difference between the 2013 F350 Lariat DRW and the 2013 F450 Lariat was $2000. Since i thought i needed the stability i chose the dually. Since I don't see too many F450's on the road and not much difference in price I ordered it. 8 weeks before it comes in.

Congrats! Is the difference in the 350 and 450 in the frame and 3.73 vs 4.3 rear, larger brakes and wider axle? I had read payload capacity in the 450 was slightly less than the 350 but tow capacity was higher....any way you go it's gonna be a nice TV!! Hard to beat the Ford Lariat pkg unless you go with the King Ranch..Enjoy

i think the power rating of the 450 is less than the 350 since they seem to be bought more for the commercial market. i recall reading that somewhere, but it still has plenty of power to get the job done.

congrats on the new truck tho. i think you are going to be very happy.

Wow! I've never seen an F450 pickup. I've seen F450 chassis that were part of a Class C motorhome. Didn't know there was such a thing. Post a picture when you can. I'd like to see it.

Dealer cost?!!??! WOW!!!
Even at full MSRP a 350 or 450 is such an incredible deal. The work that truck will do compared to a 150 or 250 is...

Bob, I see a couple of them in town. You know how a dually 350 looks like a bull dog pickup?
Well...
A 450 looks like it eats 350's for snacks!

Congrats on the new 450. You will be much hgappier with the 450 as it is a whole new animal comapred to a 250 or a 350. Axles, brake size and rear end can haul a tank. You were right with the dually's will help you a bunch.
Did you get the inbed 5th wheel mount and Reese 18K hitch or do you plan to mount something else?
Columbus 385bh is about 12k dry and 16k max correct

I think you got a great truck. I don't see a MSRP of over $60k being a bargain... What kind of price is dealer cost? Does Ford have a deal right now on trucks at almost 10k off MSRP?

have you priced a new half ton anything? jeemeny the prices are thru the roof. base model cc short box ram 1500 2wd with manual windows, locks and vinyl floor is over 30xxx.

f150 xlt's with any kind of equiptment are over 40. i only know this because a dodge and ford dealer are close by and my son and i were out looking at mustangs and challengers. he is 17 and it doesnt cost to dream after he is out of the house tho .......

Thanks very much. I am sure I will enjoy it. I am not sure about the prices in the USA but here in Ontario we always pay more. The bill of sale os at the office. When I get to the office I will tell you exactly what it cost me for every option.

I like the king ranch. But, with 2 small kids I thought that all the juice and pop they spill will ruin the nice looking rawhide seats.
