Outside stove vent

OK. I give up. How do you unlatch the outside flapper for the stove vent. I've tried everything but take a screwdriver to it but I still haven't figured it out. There are two things at the bottom of the flapper that looks like you either push, pull down or pull out but nothing works. It's plastic so I don't want to break it. I have a 250RLUD Sabre. Help.

Push those things to the side. Don't pull down or pull out. You may want to encourage it a bit by tapping them sideways. They can be tight, but will loosen up over time.

Dear 1Texan,
not sure what brand of unit you have but if it's the brand new vent those two taps need to be pushed up. You need to push the both tabs at the same time. Also make sure some caulk didn't get applied to the flap that is keep it from opening. If you want to send me a picture, I'd be glad to make sure we are giving the correct instructions. There are more that 10 types of vent covers.

Well, I broke the code today without breaking the vent flapper. I was pushing streight up or pulling streight down. You have to push up and out. They are clips that are a part of the flapper and you have to unhook them and then the flapper works.
