Palomini 180 FB Maiden Voyage
Just completed a 3289 mile trip with three different camping locations through New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. I pulled the Palomini 180 FB with a 2010 Toyota Tundra Crew Cab half ton with the 4.6 V8 and factory tow package upgrade. I used a load leveling anti sway hitch on the trailer and installed a adjustable air bag rear suspension Kit. (because I also hauled a 805 lb atv in the bed of the truck. The Tuck pulled the RV with ease. On a level highway I could cruise at 68 mph with an rpm range of 1800 to 2000.
Just my wife and I used the camper and found that it had adequate space for us and our supplies. The camper has plenty of storage space for a unit it's size! We were on the road for 10 days. 4 days of that were travel time with the fridge running on the propane tank. Even with using the stove, hot water heater and the heater itself we only used 2/3 of a tank of propane. The nice size fridge keep things plenty cold and the ice cream stayed rock hard in the freezer whether on electric or propane. As an x-large size guy I found the shower roomy enough for me. Plenty of interior led lights and electrical outlets in the right locations were very nice. We really liked the built in led light string on the awning.
Understanding that this is a small light weight affordable RV we did have a few quality control/craftsmanship issues. The valences above the curtains were only held on with 2 screws on each side instead of the four the brackets require, the living room one fell off 10 hours down the road. Could not get any TV channels at all. After some trouble shooting I finally figured out that the cable and antenna cables were hooked up backwards. Lastly, the shower hot and cold water knobs were reversed and hooked up backwards.
When we got back home I found that the fiberglass outside coating made washing the unit a breeze compared to other corrugated sided units. Traveled on lots of gravel roads and not one rock chip!
Overall after our first trip we are very satisfied with this RV.
