Palomino Gazelle

Just purchased a 2008 Palomino Gazelle 178FD I estimate the CCC at about 3,500#. I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder V6 3.5L. I pulls ok but I am going to purchase a new (used) truck next year. What is the best truck to buy and options?

i think you're using the wrong weight term.

CCC is cargo carrying capacity. your Gazelle has a "dry" weight of 2908lbs.,
sounds like you mean UVW(what it actually weighs from the factory) or maybe you mean its loaded-for-camping weight.
the trailer's "dry" weight plus its CCC, equals the trailer's GVWR.

your trailer does have a tremendous CCC for a trailer its size. but even loaded normally, i can see why the Pathfinder would have had some issues.
it would have been real easy to have it weigh 5000lbs.

as far as best truck, every brand has its fans and haters, so your question is a loaded one. there is NO consensus as to "what's the best truck to buy".

the hottest truck out there, right now, is the F-150 Ecoboost. better mileage than a v-6 truck and can tow close to what a diesel can tow.

one factor is, do you plan on getting a bigger trailer in the future?

Thanks, UR right. The Unloaded weight is 2,975 #'s, adding some water, fuel and personal items I estimate the towing weight to be about 3,500#'s. No thoughts about purchasing anything bigger. I have been researching towing trucks and want to be sure I can get the best gas millage and be able to pull up grades. It seems to be I need a V8 that is rated to tow at lease twice my trailer weight loaded. Am I on the right track?
