We were going to use a space heater inside but I guess the furnace won't kick on if we do that and heat the underbelly. Any advice?

surprised the dealer didn't inform you that the furnace uses only propane to heat. another bad PDI!
it's a good idea to use a space heater to supplement the furnace, IF you have electric hookups. you will have electric hookups, right?
if not, you won't be able to run the space heater and your battery will probably be dead by morning.
your propane usage will be fine.
don't know where your pipes are and whether you have a heated underbelly.
