Question about axles

I have a 29' Solaire by Palomino TT with Dexter-Tor Flex Torsion Axles. We level it with Bigfoot automatic jacks and sometimes one tire might be off of the ground. Does this damage Dexter-Tor Flex Torsion axle??

Short answer no. But you should try to block that wheel with some 2x6 and then relevel again. thats will not hurt it but it is putting pressure on your system...

I would think not. They are most likely made with some sort of stop inside so it doesn't drop too far. It's probably just like having the trailer sit on the tires all the time. If there wasn't a way to prevent it then over time the weight of the trailer would cause the spindle to rotate upward until the tires couldn't go any more.

Did the jacks come installed on the trailer or are they aftermarket?

Jacks

The Bigfoot Jacks are after market. They work perfect. The camp site where the one tire was off the ground was one of those that had a huge slope to one end and side.

I agree, just to alleviate any unnecessary tension, I would use leveling blocks to give that high wheel something to be steady on. I always keep a stack of those orange plastic leveling blocks in my storage hatch, they come in a nice zipper bag for tidy storage. I use on one side, if needed to level, or both sides if the site is low/dipped, because I like to have my awning arms as high as possible/completely out of the way when the awning is extended.

One or all tires off the ground cannot damage the torsion axle any more than all tires on the ground.
