Has anyone ever had a rear cap replaced on a Columbus 5th wheel. I have some collision damage on door side of the rear cap. Since this is a vacuum bonded piece I am concerned about letting a dealer do this work.
I had a Winnebago Motorhome 15 yrs ago and the body was vacuum bonded and i hit a steel support at a toll booth on the Wv turnpike and it caught the awning arms and ripped both almost all the way off and knocked 2 big holes in the side of my rv. I had to duct tape the arms to get home. I took it to the dealer the next day to get a estimate and they had a body shop an they replaced the whole side and restriped it and actually done a good job. They kept it about 3 months but it was in winter! I was satisfied with it. It never leaked and never heard any wind noise when traveling. But I'd say a good RV body shop can do it right for you! Good Luck!
Thanks for your response. I think my insurance company has an RV body shop locally in the Atlanta area they deal with, Hopefully they can get it repaired. Really not a lot of damage, a small crack in the lower corner of the fiberglass, rest is sheet metal that can made on site.
