Recommended RV Covers

As meticulous I am with maintaining our campers, I never invested in a cover but I didn't like the long term effects of an unprotected camper sitting in the elements.

I'm determined to purchase a cover for our new fifth wheel so I can prolong it's aesthetic value and protect items like the roof, caulking joints, graphics, etc..

Anyone have suggestions and brand recommendations that you have used on your camper? Any tricks to make covering and uncovering easier?

Cover rain gutter extensions with tennis balls with an "x" cut into them. Pool noodles and pipe wrap can be used to cover other sticky outey bits.

Give the outside a good cleaning before storage.

A good coat of wax after a thorough cleaning will also help.

Some just hoof the cover over their shoulder and haul it up the ladder, some climb the ladder and haul it up with a rope.

Unroll the cover down the length of the trailer and then drape over the sides. Attach buckles and straps as applicable to your cover.

Fold it up in the reverse order of installation (lift up sides, fold and roll down the center) so that it goes back on easily after removal.

Your best bet to install it without trouble is when there's low or no wind. Early evening and first thing in the morning are typically lower wind times.

Keep it tight to prevent wind rub.

Brands are what brands are. Get something that "breathes" to help keep moisture down. Longer warranty implies better quality, but is not always the case.

I've for a Camco Ultraguard on order and should be lifting it up tomorrow.

That's about all I've got to offer ya.

I like the Carver brand, they are made near where I live in SC and are much better than ADCO in my opinion. One site that sells them is rvcoversdirect.com

I have used the Adco covers for my TT and have had good success. Have to wait for them to go on sale though, as they can be expensive. Great white had some good suggestions for covering sharp edges, that is a must. Make sure you get something that breathes. I can't speak about the Carver brand, haven't tried it. I may look into it before I order for the 5th wheel.

My Adco didn't last very long. Bought a Calmark after that and got much longer service life from it.
