We have a 2016 320RS that we started out with in March of last year we camped and traveled almost 8100 miles last year. The island has four locking castors and two straps that secure the island while in transit. We've had no problems.

Many in our Columbus RV group have modified the way to fasten it using different methods

We have a 2013 RS320 and have never had an issue with the island while traveling. There are so many advantages to the movable island I would not have it any other way.

You slide it back and it straps down in front of the rear sofa. Then the 2 slides come in and kind of sandwich it in.

Island concern

Hi - We have a beautiful Columbus 320RS and took it for the first long haul (6000 km) driving a variety of roads. After one rough patch, we realized that the couch in the back had become airborne, and the island as well. The damage amounted to:
- the clasps securing the curtains around the couch were broken off
- the wheels on the garbage end of the island snapped off
- the floor was dented where the island hit it
- small dent in the wall where the airborne couch hit
The dealer was understanding and supportive, and we've asked them to secure the island permanently to the floor, as we were positioning it in the same place every time we parked the rig. We were also informed that the couch should have been secured to the floor at the factory but was not.
Otherwise, a few minor deficiency items that are being addressed.

We looked at the 320RS and I was thinking the same thing, Attach to the floor and be done with it.

Island

We have had or 320 for four years now and NEVER had any problems with movement. ALL I can say YOU need to SLOW DOWN. If the road is that bad . WHAT do you expect. The couch in the back is NOT tied down .

With a little background here. We have 3 4 lane highways that go to park destinations in Ontario. We have been on 600 series highways in Ontario many times. These are worse than The Alaska Highway with dips and curves between rock cuts. The speed limit on some spots is 40 mph and trust me you can not go over that. I would not matter what speed you drive damage could occur.
With out knowing which roads he was on we can only assume.

The couch should be tied down as well.
