RV Park in Cherokee North Carolina

Going to spend 2 weeks in August in Cherokee NC as a jumping off point for the BR Mountains. Can anyone suggest a park they have been pleased with?

Thanks

RV Resort

We spent a week in the Smoky Mountains outside of Gatlinburg, TN. Its the north east end of the park. The park is new, built for larger RV's, like our 320RS 5th wheel. Its called Smoky Mountain Premier RV Resort in Cosby, TN 844-557-6778. Its clean, great tree coverage, a pool, clean bath house, a nice patio & store. Very Clean. The family operated business is 5 stars. Its off the beaten path, but not too far out. We were able to hike, motor around, visit the sites. Well worth the stay. I would return again. Check them out.

We have stayed at the KOA in Cherokee many times. It is a nice park but can be crowed in the summer. It's very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Maggie Valley and 441 to go to Gatlinburg.

About 12 miles west is Bryson City which is a great little town and close to white water rafting, Fontana Dam and the Cherhola Parkway. We have stayed at Deep Creek Tubing Center campground and was very pleased. They have about a dozen spots up on the hill and also creek front lots a a goat petting area. Bryson City is also home to the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad which has daily excursions.

Across the street from Deep Creek is Big Bear which you would have to Google. It is a very nice quiet park with full hook ups but no amenities such as a showers, etc. Owner is very accommodating.
