FYI...picked up our 2013 Sabre last week, here's the redesign on the bike rack.
Someone at FR has been listening to all the bike rack complaints because this design does work much better than what I saw and read on earlier posts.

Nice! Looks like they might have solved the spacing problem and I like the fact that the wheel of the bike fits in the tray, not down into a slot. How do you secure the bikes to the rack?

That's another area that didn't get thought out on the redesign...I'm working on it

Here's the bike setup for two 26" adult bikes and two 14"/12" kids bikes...very secure.
Used (3) 41" rubber tarp straps, (2) 24" neoprene twist straps and all done
For extra measure I used a tennis ball on one end of the adult bikes closet to the window in case a strap came loose, handle wouldn't scratch or crack the window.

I took delivery in August. I wonder if the factory would take a trade in of the earlier version towards the purchase of the redesigned one?
