Sabre for sale. Extremely cheap!

Hit a really bad patch of ice on I-90 in SD. Within twenty minutes there were seven more vehicles in the ditch across from us. Thankfully, truck stayed upright and we are all fine. Not much we could have done, other than not travel. We were headed to family Christmas, and had another 45 minutes to go when I lost control. We simply started sliding sideways and I couldn't pull hard enough to get in front of it. Camper will be totaled and I'm guessing the truck may be too. I hit three very large boulders before stopping, and guessing they were what caused the sudden sideways stopping and rollover.
Through it all, God is good and protected my family. Truck and camper can be replaced.

Merry Christmas!

Wow.........so glad that you and yours are OK !! Like you said, the truck and camper can be replaced.

I viewed this thread because of the title. When campers are for sale, the site team has to approve the post before being publicized. I think this post won't need that approval.

Super happy that everyone is OK. I’ll bet that was a ride you never want to have duplicated.

I was surprised that the fifth wheel came detached from the hitch which is probably why the truck didn’t end up on its side. What brand of hitch did you have in the truck?

B&W companion. I thought the same thing and plan to contact them to find out if it was supposed to? Pun stayed attached but the top popped off the hitch. Amazingly, one back to their yard, I was able to open slides and got our clothing and food out. No broken glass in the camper either! Closet doors, shower doors, and both bedroom doors stayed together pretty well. I'm truly amazed at the structure! Funny thing is, if you look y say my last thread, I just got the Sabre back from Goshen for warranty work. They had replaced the whole living and bunk house flooring, all new lights, new closet rails, and fixed a small sidewall crack....

Sorry for the accident and the loss but the important thing is that everyone is okay. Material things can be replaced/fixed.

Events/pictures such as these are so traumatic, they cause ripples in all of us RVers. I, too, am thankful you are OK.

I'm very glad you're ok. Every time I get behind the wheel of my RV or motorcycle I think about how quickly things like this can happen. Thanks for sharing and reminding us all that it's a dangerous world out there. Again, I'm very glad you're ok.

So glad everyone is ok. This is every RVers nightmare. On the plus side, this means you get to go truck and trailer shopping.

Yes, very glad that you are able to tell us the story yourself. We have all seen situations that were bad. Now that your Sabre has passed the durability test...

Oh man, this hurts to read and hits close to home! Please do let me know what B&W say about the hitch. I know the coupler isn't held on by much, but it still doesn't seem right that it would come off. How early did it come off in the wrecking process?

Not sure when in the process, but think it was pretty late, right before stopping. That was due to the large rocks and a hill back out of the ditch. I think you can see in the pic that the pins bent, maybe? Gotta zoom in

Yeah, I see the pins are bent. Did your brake away cable get pulled/activated?

Nope, because it was attached to the head that broke off. But brakes wouldn't have helped much sideways. I was thinking through that though and how to better hook the cable maybe.
