I've never set foot in a sandpiper so I can't compare.
What I can say is we love our sabre!

Have been in both and could be happy with both the main factor in deciding to go with the sierra which is the same as the sandpiper was the interior hight of the front cap and the slides. The sandpiper/sierra is a full profile unit and the interior height of the slides is more. If you are tall then you will hit your head a lot in the sabre. If you are under 6' then the interior height want matter.

I was told by a dealer that sells both that the sandpiper was better quality. I have noticed the sandpiper is cheaper though.

I second Chris' comment. Have you been inside a Columbus. We've been inside a Sandpiper and a Sierra. It's my opinion that if you take a good look inside a Columbus, you won't be looking for either a Sandpiper or a Sierra any longer.
Good luck with your decision whatever way you go. Happy camping

I must admit I did like the Columbus F385B when I was evaluating, but just couldn't justify the $$. The Sabre 36QBOK covered everything that I needed and wanted at a price I could justify. I do love the Sabre line. Sorry Chris! But the Columbus is a still great RV...

I would love the Columbus but I bet I can't justify the price difference.

If I remember right from when we were looking almost a year ago, it is not as much as you think.

X2. We couldn't. IMHO for the price Sabre packs alot of quality, features, value, and creature comforts into their units. We're extremely happy with our Sabre. Although the Sandpiper looks nice too.

The price will have to be real close to sabre for me to pick a Columbus. The sabre is already at the top of my budget. I do like the auto level up on the Columbus.
