SE Mich. Columbus Dealers
We just came home from the Novi Mich. RV show today. We thought we had settled on a new Silverback 33RL until DW saw the Columbus 320RS. There are a couple of dealers close to us that sell this fiver. LLoyd Bridges Traveland, National RV Detroit, and Tradewinds RV. Wana RV in Shipshewana ind. also is a possibility. Has anyone had any experience with any of these dealers? Likes or dislikes. Thanks, Craig & Ginger

What was your deciding difference between the Silverback and the Columbus?

We liked that the island moves in the Columbus and we liked the bike rack that it comes with. My wife didn't like that the faucet in the bathroom was turned sideways in the silverback but that is not a deal breaker. The Kitchen sink was bigger and she liked the true shades unlike the day night shades that come in the SB. I like the so called customer service I've heard about with Cedar Creek. We toured the Cedar Creek plant in Topeka Ind. last fall and was impressed. I think we will be happy in whatever we choose unless we get a total lemon. Craig

I see you live here in Mich. May I ask what dealer you bought your 33RL and were you happy with your salesperson?

We have a Rockwood 8289 5th wheel on order..got a quote from Wana RV, and communication with them was pretty good at first. But they didn't provide as good a price as All Seasons RV, and Wana insisted on being paid in full within 2 wks of receiving the trailer on their lot. As we will be coming from a distance to get it, we aren't sure of the exact timing that we will make the trip once the dlr gets the trlr. All Seasons was more accommodating, in that they told us to bring payment with us when we come get it and do the PDI....that made much more sense to us! Thats the extent of my experience with Wana.

We bought from Tradewinds RV last year and had no problems. All of the slides were out of adjustment and they took care of it in short order. The tech even came out to apologize that he missed it in pre-delivery inspection.
Every situation with dealers is different for some folks. I'm sure if you hunt around long enough, you'll find some who weren't happy with them. So far, my experience has been positive.

We bought ours from Krenek RV, they are located in Coloma Mi. They had a great sales staff there and their service dept looked good but luckily we haven't needed any service yet. It looks like the layout of the Columbus is very similar to the Silverback that is going to be a tough choice for you.

Freeway RV in Midland is also a Columbus Dealer, but we've only purchased items from the store, so no recommendations either way.

Just do not buy from Tradewinds RV. I almost had to get a lawyer for the damage they caused. 3 months later I hot it back and the things that they said they fixed were still broke. Did I forget yo mention about the home they drilled to remove a bolt. I would avoid Tradewinds at all costs especially if you have a Columbus

We are dealing with Justin at Wana. Very enjoyable to deal with. Will be hopefully picking our 5er up by the middle of April. Also because their dealership is so close to the factory we will be going on a tour when we pick up our trailer. Plus they will pay for our camping fees in a campground nearby for up to 5 days so we can make sure everything is in good working order before we start heading for Calgary.

dont know if gillettes interstate rv in lansing sells the columbus, we bought 3 units from them in the past, the salesman was the greatest person ever we have ever bought from , but he passed. the service manager is really good and will go out of his way to fix issues, but the manufacture can and will tie his hands on issues i think need attention.. we had a brake issue on the last TT and was loaded up to camp for 2 weeks and as I pulled down the road the brakes shorted and we took it them on a saturday at 4pm (they close at 5), they stayed till 8pm and fixed the issue and off we went

Looked at National when we first started looking at a new TT, wasn't impressed, was trying to push off previous years TT on us.
