IF there is anyone with a Columbus that hasn't had an issue please let me know. Even the people that love theirs had had it in for service a few times. That's unacceptable.

Maybe there are people out there that have not had a single issue but if I was purchasing a Columbus for full time use with no way to get it to service I would seriously reconsider.

I agree with you f1100turbo. We have the Columbus320RS and only had a couple of minor issues which my dealer took care of in no time. Very happy with our unit and would recommend to anyone.

Sorry. I'm wrong. They are all 100% out of the factory. I would have no problem having one dropped off in Florida to live in all winter from a dealer in Ohio with no way to get it to service.

I've had my sabre in for warranty service 4 times while it was under warranty .
I deal with it and move on I guess.

A/c freezing up.
Cracked propane fitting.
Bedroom slide hanging up on carpet.
Perimeter screw cover strips shrinking .
Low air flow through ducting.
Shower drain leak.

Still love my sabre and would recommend it to anyone.
As long as it was fixed under warranty I'm completely satisfied.

We just have different views I guess.

Find a different dealer to do repairs!!!!! Go Columbus, Palomino, then Forest river dealers. OR just call Forest River and plead your case. Maybe good ol Christopher Columbus will chime in and give some advise.

I have talked to Columbus and they promised me everything would be taken care of. I thought my dealer would have treated me a little better.

If I'm in Florida and I have small issues I can take care of them myself or have a mobile tech come out to fix it and still be covered under warranty, I may have to pay for his transportation cost but I can deal with that. My concern is if a slide has to come out for some reason or somthing like that. I'm sure I can always find a way to get it to a authorised dealer if I need to, but you would think major issues would be corrected at the factory. I read dozens of RV travel forums, and for the most part everything goes pretty smooth, with the exception of a occasional blow out or fire. Actually not towing seems to be in my favor. Much less wear and tear on the unit. I survived 40 years in the oil industry, I'll survive this.

I wouldn't expect 100% of Columbus units to be problem free nor would I expect 100% of Columbus units to be full of problems either. And sometimes happy owners are silent out of consideration for those owners with problem units.

I feel ya funky. I took delivery of my Sabre 36QBOK in late June. Long story but we've been in the shop for over 9 weeks. Only got in 2 trips the whole summer. Just picked it up today and the repairs are sloppy but functional. I'm gonna have to drive a little if I need more warranty work but I'll never darken the door of this dealer again. I've never experienced this level of incompetence and dishonesty. Maybe we are dealing with the same folks! So take comfort in the knowledge that you aren't the only one getting screwed by FR and/or its dealer network.
