Shower leak!

We have a solaire 292qbsk and we had a giant puddle of water pouring out from under our bathroom wall into the living room this morning. I did some investigating and be love it is coming from around the control knobs on the shower. When I sprayed the water on the front wall it started pouring out inside the wall. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be caulk around where the control knobs mount to the jut out on the shower?

And the best part is that we are at Disney for a week!

Here is a pic of the control knob area that I am talking about.

Something else that I saw while under the shower was the hole cut in the floor for the drain pipe. Is it normal to saw through the metal floor joist (or whatever they are called on a travel trailer)?

Here's a thread I had that might interest you. Same problem, and the fix. As for the floor joint, I wouldn't think that would be normal, but who knows in today's manufacturering processes.

I don't have a picture in that thread, but the whole assembly has been flipped over, where the shower hose comes out the bottom now. Just had to swap the hot / cold caps on the knobs. Water can / will get in where your shower hose connection to the faucet, and between the faucet and raised plastic piece that sticks out. It should all be sealed, but ours was not.
