Soundbar inop with TV

Brand new 32RBFQ, I cannot get the soundbar to work with the TV, Only 1 set of cables come up to the TV, so I am thinking it needs another cable of some sort.

How do you remove the sound bar? Looks like there is a rectangular cover at each side that comes off, but I cannot seem to get them to move, and I don't want to bend them.

Thanks in advance.

What type of soundbar?? I've removed mine already just to check the connections. If it's the same, those screw covers slide sideways to access the screws. They likely have a little bit of adhesive behind them to, but they will still slide.

If you only have the red/white/yellow coming up to the TV, the red/white is for audio out; the yellow is for video in (assuming you have a DVD player in your soundbar). The a regular cable connection to the back of the TV, too.

Hope it works....

Greg

You would need to get an optical cable to go from the tv to the sound bar

When you say optical cable do you mean HDMI?

Tried several different things this weekend, including HDMI cable.

Can get sound from TV, just doesn't play on soundbar.
DVD works and sound comes out of sound bar though.

Attached are a couple of pictures.

Optical cable is different from HDMI. Don't quote me, but I believe it uses a small laser to push very high definition audio down fiber from the source to the amplifier. No possibility for EMI-induced distortion.
