Stone Dents/Chips on Front of Columbus

We are finally about to take delivery of our 320RS. Never having a 5'er before I feel overly protective. Most older 5'ers have stone dents on the front of the RV directly behind the rear wheels of the TV. Is there a reason why I never have seen anyone put some diamondplate guard in this area like so many of the travel trailors have? Is there another type of shield (plastic, etc.) that any of you owners have tried?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I use the wire brush guard on ours, I have it so it mounts in the 2" receiver and keeps mud, worms from wet hwy and stones off the front of the 5th wheel nose.. Works well.

I've ever seen diamond plateon the front of a fiver before...you could be the first!

There's stone/mud guards that mount in the 2" receiver hitch...here's a link.

Maybe never seen it on a 5th wheel because of the access doors for generator, propane, battery, or a host of other items. Few if any travel trailers have an access door in the front, due to the tongue. Easy to slap a piece of diamond plate up. 5th wheels would require trimming around access doors. Just my thoughts, no real proof.

We used to own a 5'er toy hauler that had diamond plate on the front. They made cutouts for the generator and propane compartments. I think they did that due to toy haulers are usually taken offload.

I've got a 2013 Puma Unleashed TH fiver (351THSS) and the diamond plate up front was an option. Looks good as well as functional.

When I purchased my 5er I too was concerned about stone damage and thought about installing diamond plate. However, after more than 14,000 miles I have yet to have any damage. If you want peace of mind you can also install mud flaps while towing at a lot less cost. Though some people do not like how they look.
