Took delivery today

Today was the big day. Took delivery of your new 2016 Palomino Columbus 381FL. Truck pulled it like a dream. I mean I could tell it was back there but no issues getting up to 65. Of course I wanted to be safe so the first stop was the scales. Now I will say the first one I stopped at I screwed up and pulled too far forward. The guy barely spoke English so I just took the numbers and then reweighed it when I got home. Now these weights are straight after leaving the dealer. There is nothing in the trailer. We never haul water/grey/black either.

First weigh:
Steer Axle: 10720
Drive Axle: 00000
Trailer Axle: 10480
Gross Weight: 21200

2nd weigh:
Steer Axle: 4600
Drive Axle: 5780
Trailer Axle: 10500
Gross Weight: 20880

Tires on the trailer are "Westlake" ST235-80-16 and Sumec Wheels. I cannot find anything stamped on the wheels for maximum air pressure.

TV tires are Nitto Terra Grappler G2 LT305-55R20. Maximum weight is 3195 lbs at 65 psi.

Of course weight and tires are my concern now. What are you guys thoughts on weight and tires?

About the weight, I'll let the 5'er experts weigh in on that! (Pun intended).

Not that I am aware of. Those are 20's and I could go to 18 inch Michelin LTXs and they would be 3525 a tire.

NICE OUTFIT!

I am far from the weight police but to answer your question, you are probably over your Truck's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Gross Combination Vehicle Weight.
My 2011 2500 Duramax has these ratings:
GVWR - 9900 LBS.
FRT AXLE - 5200 LBS.
REAR AXLE - 6200 LBS.
Advertised Trailer Max = 17,300 LBS.

These are visible on the inside of your door and stated quite clearly as to what YOUR truck is rated for. Assuming it hasn't changed much since 2011, given the above numbers and your scaled numbers you are already over without loading.

Up to you if you want to worry, you will get varied opinions on many forums. I'm aware that we are close but not losing sleep over it. 98% of our towing is currently in the prairies and the truck handles it like a complete dream. If we choose to head out across the country then I'll review the weights and maybe address it. Others will tell you that you have to have a Peterbilt or a Freightliner to pull that trailer.

But, you did ask

Very nice setup! Omg that rig is huge!

Tire rack has 8 choices in that size in e rated. There is a Firestone at 252 and go up to 411. I think they are all good choices but they are some other members that know better than I do.

IF there is a max pressure stamped on the rims, it will probably be on the inside, not the outside. Not all rims are stamped.

It seems your truck is a 2500 from the photo. If it is, I believe you have to much FW for the truck. MHO.

When you get your coach loaded with your normal items and your basement filled weigh it again. Check the weight limits of each the rear tires, which are on the tires, and I am pretty sure you will be over that or right on it. Now put something in the back of your truck. What I am saying is that you don't have enough truck. Think about how insurance companies work, If you are in an accident no matter whose fault you are overloaded and at fault. That's what I thought about and upgraded my truck. Your truck will probably handle the load and feel fine but it's not safe.

If it's close to the max on the tires/wheels, then I will upgrade them. Based on the empty weight I don't think I will be above the max weight of the truck. We travel lite.

Imo you should not buy a trailer based on dry weight because you "travel light".
