I had an inside-the-bed trailer cable plug installed. A connection in the bumper plug harness was separated and the new harness inserted. That bundle was cable-tied and taped. I got your message and determined my connection bundle was tied too tightly which opened a connection. I removed some of the binding tension and the message quit appearing.

Most likely the connection issue is inside the plug itself which you can easily replace yourself, unless you've already taken it in.

We found that the inverter was the problem

Here is a suggestion. shut off the truck, close the doors and wait until all the truck lights kept on by auto delays shut off before connecting the trailer plug. Some of the computers in these truck are sensitive and register error when there really isn't one.

We have the same problem. The female plug that comes with the RV has its contact points just a little to far inside of itself. I tied a string to it and the truck and most of the time rectified the issue.

That's a nice trailer, just looked it up. I really like that layout. Do you mean the inverter that runs the fridge? Or did you mean to say converter?
