Water pressure ?

Does anybody know what water pressure we are suppose to use for city water hooked up to our trailers.

We have a 2013 295rl, and I am going to order an adjustable water pressure guage instead of using the factory non adjustable presure guage.

I think my factory set regulator is set at 45 psi. Hope this helps.

I set my adjustable (Watts regulator from rvwaterfilterstore.com) to 40-45-ish.

I set my adjustable regulator at 40-45 as well. This was what my PDI tech recommended and confirmed by a few friends who are life time RV'ers.

I am going to order a watts adjustable regulator also and wanted to make sure I get the right one, plus I wanted to make sure I did not put too much water pressure on the system and break the pvc pipes in the trailer.

All new RVs come with PEX plumbing.
PEX tubing is rated up to 150 PSI.
However the factory facets & bypass valves are not rated for that much.
Your only as strong as the weakest link!
The standard recommendation of 40-45 PSI comes from the older gray tubing you find in older RVs & mobile homes.
The gray stuff had a max rating of 45 PSI.
I replaced all my factory facets with residential ones from Lowes.
I keep my regulator set to 55-60 psi & have had no issues.

You can tell what kind of tubing you have by the color.
If you see red & blue tubing you have PEX.
Red being for hot & blue for the cold supply.
They stopped using the gray 10+/- yrs ago after a waive of law suites in the mobile home industry.

I bought this one and don't use it any more. It was expensive and now does not work due to calcium deposits from the well water used at most campgrounds.

I find the cheapo fixed one works as good and when the pressure drop from crud becomes noticeable, I toss it and get a new one.

I soak mine (forget the make/model) in CLR at least once a year & it looks/works like new.

Just went through the same thing. Purchased this from Camping World $13.00 rated at 50-55 PSI and 15-20% more flow. Research suggested that the new rigs can certainly handle this and that it is not just about PSI, but flow.

The model with the guage is a little lower in PSI and flow at 40-50 PSI.

40psi is adequate for most trailers. What happens is the flow gets choked down at the spray head. Take the restrictor out of your faucets and voila! improved pressure.
