It's junk, I have the Bose in the living room, but they put the Connection brand in the living room in the Compass series

I agree, total junk!
I replaced both of them with Sonos Beam.

Yeah, doesn't look too promising. I have some Sonos stuff in the stick house, does it work on the road with no Internet connection? Hadn't seen the smaller soundbar yet, have one of the larger ones in bedroom.

We have a 289RL on order, not 1492 edition. Curious as to what radio / disk player / sound bar might be in the living area, too. Don't think I paid too much attention assuming that I'd rip and replace....

I have a 366RL 1492, mine came with a Bose Solo 5, in the LR and the Connex brand in the BR. I think that the Columbus comes just like mine, but the Compass Series comes with Connex Brand in both the LR and BR. I'll type out a question and ask our owner's group tonight at work and update you when I get a response

You don't need an internet connection tion for it to work with the TV. If you have a music library, you can stream that by just having a wireless router. An internet connection tion would be required to stream Pandora, Spotify or any of the other streaming services supported.

Connex sound bar alternative

I have a Columbus with the Connex sound bar. It bounced off the shelf, fell on the floor and smashed the screen. The screen is unreadable. It was junk anyways.
Does anybody know is there any other sound bar on the market that operates on 12 volts and has a built in radio. Thanks

Possible Option...

If that "head unit" (center section, not including speakers) is the same size as a double-DIN radio you can get from Crutchfield, for example, then this is an option...:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ml#post1914491

I simple removed the center section and put in a new Sony system. I wired the "front" speaker wires to the sound bar, and the "rear" speaker wires to the outside speakers we have on our unit.

Another nice thing about automotive radios is that nowadays they come with DVD capability, not to mention the Bluetooth, Pandora, etc, etc. Just remember that while shopping, no need to get/pay for one with Navigation.

Again, just an option...
