What size wheels and tires - Puma Fifth Wheels
Can anyone with a Puma fifth wheel (295BHSS or 295KBH would be perfect) do me two favors. Our 295BHSS arrives in two weeks and I am ordering a couple of things for it.
1. What size wheels and tires (brand and weight rating would be great too) came stock? Were/Are the tires decent?
2. What is the distance between the front and back wheels? This one I want to know because I am ordering the fastway wheels chocks and want to be sure I get the right size.
Thanks!

I had 225/75/15 load range D and I think they are westlake. Dont know about actual weight. I can check tomarrow. I rotated them to my car hauler when my 295 totaled. I thought the were about 2400lb ish.
I think the spacing is about 6-7" between tires. You might look in my old threads or I will try. I had a thread about lifting the trailer to add bigger lt tires.

Just looked on my old thread. I had about 6-7" then. You might ask Iwannacamp, I think they have the 295kbh too.

Thanks! I don't know anything about westlake tires. I have been pretty partial to Maxxis over the last 10 years, and Duro prior to that. I guess we will put miles on them and see how they hold up. I am guessing they must be D class, as this trailer has a GVWR 10600. Of course the way these RV manufacturers are, they may subtract Hitch Weight and say they are in spec...

Yep, as I stated before, Westlake 225/75/15 8ply load range D. Rated at 2540lb at 65psi. And the rim rated at 2600lb.
- u might check your gvwr on your trailer, ours was 11,176 on the gvrw, the advertised dry wt was 8546 lb, and ship was about 8,750 or so.The trailer was also about 34' long overall.

Not exactly the same trailer but have a 2014 Puma 259 rbss.
Mine came with Chinese Akuret M188 ST225/75R15D rated at 2540 lbs. I don't trust them and as soon as I have extra money hope to upgrade to LT tires on a 16" wheel.
I have about 5" between the two tires.
GAWR 4400 LBS.
GVWR 10227 LBS.
Dry weight 7199 lbs.

Don't have a Puma but a heavier Sabre that came with Westlake tires...I've been very pleased with this brand vs any other stock camper tire you usually get.
Going on 2yrs on them and perform/look great...
Specs on ours:
ST235/80R16
Load Range E
3520lbs max load per tire

I think they use the same wheels and tires on TT and FW models. Our TT's have had LR D tires, but both I have experience with came with Triangle brand tires. Have seen the Westlake tires used on newer models on dealer lots, though. I believe all LR D tires in 225/75-15 will be rated for 2540lbs. You will probably never be more than 8500 or so loaded if you are in the low 7K range unloaded, so I'd think you'll be fine as this calculates to approximately 16% under capacity. And this doesn't take into account pin weight, which will likely move you into a 30+% cushion. Many of the "light" 5er's that weigh what yours does are running C rated tires and will be maxed out when loaded- you have to subtract ALL pin weight to get under the tires rating.

Op. You might look around at online dealers yellow stickers, all of them I've seen, on 2014s had dry weight yellow stickers around 8200-8500 lb. I know pumas website shows a lower weight, maybe they had a typo or something OR that is with out the kitchen option.
Just an fyi if weight is a big issue.

The dry weight on the trailer at the lot was 8436lbs. That was a loaded out unit with the solid surface countertops, etc.
I guess my luck with tires has been good and bad. The good, I have never had one blow out (knocking on wood as I type). The bad, ever used trailer I have purchased has had tires that were 100 miles from death. Two of those trailers were only two years old. My thought was if the tires that come on it are crap, I will go straight to the tire shop, and trade them in on the tires I trust. At this point, I guess I will wait and see if I get the Westlakes, or something else.
