the hotspot

We use Verizon and have a hotspot from them. Regardless of where we are, we have secure, wireless internet.

We use Verizon MIFI 4G and find it has the best coverage. I know that there are cheaper or free service but I depend on the coverage. The nice thing with Verizon is you can sign up of free text warning of how much data you use and can change the plan up and down as to how much you use it. When we are camping we use 8 gigs a month but at home with home wifi we only use 3-4. this is split between all the smart phones on the plan and the mifi. I just called them and moved my plan to 8 gig and also had them move it back at the end of or billing cycle to 4 gig. Works better for me as the park wifi is worthless in most places.

Since I am in Florida and moving back to LA, it is perfect for me. In the few states where there is no coverage along the way, I can use my cell phone as a hot spot.

Clear says are expanding. If you camp in the places where they are now, then it is worth it, if not, then you can find something until they expand. We haven't camped yet, but I have used the Clear around town because we have Sprint and there is an area close to my house where I can't get data on my phone, so I have been carrying the Clear in my purse and am always covered.

Verizon air card, router, Wilson amp and external antenna. I get signal in places even the locals can't!

The coverage map for Clear looks likes it's only available in larger cites. That'd mean to parks.

As long as it keeps growing, I am happy. I've had great success in South Florida with the Clear and hope it continues as we travel to Los Angeles.
