Winterizing

I have a quick question. I put antifreeze in my lines but forgot one thing I guess because I never use it. But I didn't open up my outside shower head up to run it out. Will it be ok? Of freeze and bust? I have never ran water through it

If there is any water in the line, faucet or shower head, it will freeze and probably damage it.

Odds are good you have water to the faucet at least, there may well have been some leakage into the shower line and head.

It is possible that some AF may have leached in to that area but is is most likely very diluted.

You must live in a Cold location? Unless they tested your system with (Air) someone put water in it! To late now,you will know in the future. Drain the Pink come Spring and (Test with Air) that way you will NOT have WATER to mop up where your leaks are! (30 PSI Regulated Air Pressure is Plenty for this TEST,and you can Hear it! Youroo!!

Are you talking about keeping heat on in unit or do you store unit inside that is heated,if you store inside at 40 deg. don't worry about it!

You don't say what unit you have, but many models use plastic faucet assemble in the outside shower. If it froze, it most likely cracked. In addition to winterizing, I always remove all my shower heads just to be safe. Takes 1 min to reattach.

Go to lowes or HD and buy a roll of silver insulation Cut two pieces to cover your shower door. With the heater on you still might be okay.

My guess if the temp dropped below 32 for any length of time the likely hood of that line(s) freezing increases. Not sure where you live but if you can get a heat source on it, flush it now with anti-freeze, otherwise deal with the issue when you open it up in spring.Cross your fingers.

Got outside to check it yesterday and my outside shower head was cracked. But as far as I can tell that's all that it got. Warm all the way to that part

I keep the silver insulation in place. Never remove. After the first antifreeze winterizing I just kept the antifreeze in there. In five years of camping I have never used it after the PDI test. It still has never leaked.

Not sure of your set-up, but can you get heat in that compartment, like a 60 watt bulb, just to minimize the damage of freezing the other components.

Well we have hit 40deg here and I went out to the camper with a jug of pink stuff. I used my pump and when I turned on the outside shower pink stuff came out. I did have a very small drip when in the on position. But in the off nothing. I cut both the cold and hot off. Then watched and jug of pink stuff and never lost any. It stayed the same level for over 5 mins. So the damage is very minimal as far as I can tell right now. Bet I won't forget that next year.
