Wrong specification for fresh water tank

I have a 2015 Palomino Solaire 201SS. The factory specification for the fresh water tank is 32 gallons. Just on a whim I decided to measure how much water it took to fill the fresh tank. I completely drained the tank and drove 5 miles with the low point drain open. I put a flow meter on the hose and filled the tank. It read 22.5 gallons at the point the tank overflowed. I had the faucet partly opened so it wasn't filling too fast. The flow meter is accurate (tested it filling 5 gal buckets).
Has anyone else suspected or found that they did not get what FR specified?

Sure some didn't go in the hot water tank?

The pump was turned off. Hot water tank is only 5 or 6 gallons.

It could depend on where your water overflow line is, as the tank would not fill all the way up....see picture!

That picture makes sense.
I will check that out next year. The tank is sagging and needs additional bracing. I will pull the corroplast and inspect before reinforcing. Thanks.

Did you open the tank drain or the low point drain? They are not the same thing. The low point drain most likely won't fully drain the tank.

I opened the drain that comes off the bottom of the tank.
