Champion Inverter Generator Deal Alert

Not sure if this is allowed/placed in the right section, but I thought it could help someone! For anyone looking for a generator, and can't afford to spend $1000+ on a red or blue one, Amazon has the highly rated Champion 3100w peak/2800w continuous inverter generator on sale for $566. The remote/electric start version can be had for $595. This deal is only for Amazon Prime members, but Walmart has matched the price if you buy online and pick up in store. Links below, and happy camping!

Woo-hoo!!! Thank you KansasJohn! I bought the 75537i from Walmart.com a month ago for $795.10, which at the time was also the price at Amazon and the cheapest that I could find. I figured that it would be easier to return it to the local Walmart if I didn't like it.

After a lengthy phone call with Walmart customer service (they were great, it was just a long call) they refunded me the $200.10 difference plus tax on a price match, which was far better than my other option of ordering one from Amazon and returning the first one to my local Wally World.
KansasJohn, you rock!

FWIW, that price isn't just for Prime members, it's just that Prime members get free 2-day shipping instead of free ground shipping.

And BTW, for anyone contemplating buying one, I love this generator and that price is phenomenal.

KansasJohn's alert points to a really good deal for a good quality inverter generator for RVers. I bought one of the Dual Fuel 3400/3100 watt models (about $400 more) about 2 months ago and it runs like a champ (sorry for the poor pun)!. But, let me pass on a very important tip I learned from Champion's technical support department. I have also installed a 30 Amp Progressive Industries EMS (Model EMS-HW30-C) to safeguard against voltage fluctuations and surges -- but the EMS will not operate correctly because of one of the features of the US versions of Champion Inverter-generator (not an issue with Canadian models I was told). The US models output the correct voltage and frequency in pure sine wave form, but the Neutral and Ground are not bonded as one will find in normal US home electrical power systems (and at campground hookups). The PI EMS will not allow power to pass with an unbonded neutral, but there is a simple fix. An empty plug can be added with the Ground and Neutral wired internally with a jumper between Ground and Neutral and this plug can be inserted into the one of the standard outlets. The 30 Amp RV cable be used to link to the RV and the EMS will operate without fault. I discovered the issue when installing my EMS and solved it by hooking up to shore power versus the Generator and phone calls to both Progressive Industries and to Champion's technical support. I will run a full test tomorrow and post the results.

Hope this helps.

PI sells a bonded neutral plug or you can make one with about $7 in parts. Get one of those 110v plugs that has 3 screw terminals (hot - gnd - neutral). Use a piece of coated copper wire stripped on both ends. Connect Gnd to Neutral and put the plug cover back on. I leave mine plugged into one of the Champions sockets all the time.

I have had a Champion for 2 years now (sold my Yamaha Inverter because it was 10 years old) and I have had ZERO issues with it. Mine is a recoil start but it always starts first or second pull, pulls easy has an automatic compression release, runs quiet (real quiet in 'economy' mode) and powers my unit just fine.

I can run 2 days on a gallon of unleaded regular crap gas

Was hundreds cheaper than the 'fabled Honda' and puts out the exact same 4% THD PSW power.....

It really cost me nothing in as much as I sold my 10 year old Yamaha for 200 bucks more than the Champ cost me.

IMO. stuff the Honda.

Following the above links in Post #1, it seems Walmart has discontinued their deal.

The 75531i is up to $799.00

Watch that Amazon. I shopped and shopped then paid about $481 for a King Quest on jet.com.

Soon as I did, my Google enhanced Amazon pricing feed back started dropping the price on line. Lowest I've seen has been $50 less than two weeks ago, BEST ONLINE PRICE which was jet. They compete, just two weeks late for me. I suggest shopping hard on Google sights then wait and amazon seems to personalize the discount until they entice you to buy from them.

Same thang oughta work on a generator.
