How to Remove Bug/Rock Film

We have a 2012 Sunseeker which has a clear film on the overhang and across the hood. It has molded underneath. Is there an easy way to remove this film?

4 years and it is not coming off breaks and tears and has very stick base. If we could just get the film off we could use some type of solvent to remove the glue. The film is a bear.

Took mine off last year, make sure you are in the sun, heat is your friend, if it is cold (even if it is 90 but no sun on it) it will come off in tiny little pieces if at all. Get under a corner, and pull it at a very steep angle in the direction your are peeling it off, if you pull at a 90 you run the risk of pulling the paint....if it gets stubborn or leaves glue, use 3M adhesive remover. It is not the most fun you will have!! To assist with getting edges up to pull, use plastic razor blades, but use plenty of them, they do not last very long. Where are you located

just saw you are in suffolk Va...if you were closer I would come help you with it

When we had a 2004 Damon Daybreak, the "film" -- probably a badly applied clearcoat -- started coming of.

Rather than play games with little pieces, I just hauled out the pressure washer and peeled it like a grape in 20 minutes.

Got the kid next door to wax it for a negotiated price.

Looked better than ever.
