Recommended reading for new RVr

Here are 3 great locations to start with if you need info and books to read. All of the web sites have been around for some time, and 2 of them are direct rv sites. Hope this helps and I have MUCH more if you need or want it. Yes utube has a lot but nothing like pro info to tell you the right way to start with.

You can buy this book at Camping World or better yet on Amazon for much less than this link suggests. I have a copy and it has helped me out of countless situations. It covers all of the basics, whether it be a TT, 5th Wheeler or Motorhome. I would recommend it.

Youtube and Forrest River site. I learned more from these than the PDI. Go somewhere close, even your driveway,set the camper up, operate everything you can. Always bring the stack of books you get with the camper for reference.. Never be afraid to ask the campground for help. Any issues or questions, the dealer you purchased the camper is usually "too busy ". Every question I asked on this forum, has always been answered fully in simple to understand English sometimes with photos. These people here are seasoned veterans, lots of help for me. Lots of experience on this site, use it. Its FREE

Some great advise, already. If you're still working, ask around at work and I'm betting you may find some experienced RV'ers and goodness knows most of us are very opinionated! :-)

I have a few books at home that I'll post the names of...pretty good for starting off.

On Youtube, there's a some great channels you can subscribe to and also learn a lot, here's my current list:

Yes forums and YouTube are great and you should ingest all of that sort of material you can find. Not only do they inform but they encourage. Written by ordinary folk they (usually) have no axe to grind and are forthright and honest based on actual experience.

On the other hand, books are written by diligent well researched people, error checked and impressed a publisher of such expert material that it was worthy of the time and material to print.

Anyone can say anything on a forum. And usually do.

Books also require no power, Wi-Fi connection, cell signal or batteries. When all else has failed in the middle of nowhere, a book will still function.

They can also double as toilet paper or fire starting material.

Tucked away in a corner of our trailer are two RV repair books and two dutch oven recipe books. The recipe books get more use!

Get the Forest River Digital RV Owner Digital Kit app free from the App Store. It contains a wealth of information from all the owner manuals in their line and includes some linked PDF files and videos too.

I've owned 3 travel trailers and only had to use this forum for any problems I ran in to. Up to you if reading a book will help you. Best of luck..
